In the years of independent Ukraine
In 1991 Kharkiv Pharmaceutical Institute (KhPhI) became one of the three first higher education institutions of the USSR (out of 900) to get the status of the accredited one at the level of the Union.
In 1992 KhPhI was reorganized into Ukrainian Pharmaceutical Academy (UkrPhA).
In 1994 UkrPhA was accredited with the highest 4th level of accreditation.
In 1999 the educational institution got the status of the National Pharmaceutical Academy of Ukraine.
In 2002 it got the status of the National Pharmaceutical University (NPhaU).
According to the UNESCO ratings, out of 200 top universities of the country National Pharmaceutical University has one of the highest rates of scientific and pedagogical potential quality – 90%. Among medical institutions of higher education of Ukraine NPhaU ranks number three.
