Dear freshmen, faculty members and students of higher medical and pharmaceutical education institutions of Ukraine!
I heartily congratulate you on the Knowledge Day. This day unites all our country, which is again for its centuries-long history protecting its independence and the European future. Now the words Peace and Independence gained for us all extrinsic value andvital importance.
All medical students, especially those who for the first time will come to the lecture halls, you must realize the value of comprehensive knowledge and skills of doctors and nurses that affect people’s lives and safety of the country. The modern medical professional must have a fundamental knowledge, constantly improve it, and master the latest methods of disease prevention and treatment. Military medicine and disaster medicine is of key importance now.
Let our young shift, medical workers and volunteers who saved and are saving our defenders on Maidan and in the zone of Anti-terrorist operation, become an example of patriotism, compassion and humanity, devotion to the noble profession.
More than 24 thousand freshmen join the multi-thousand family of higher medical education this year. I am convinced that our medicine will get a decent replenishment. I believe that you will come to work in the new health care system, construction of which Ministry of Health of Ukraine begins together public.
Save in your souls a wonderful expression of the Father of Medicine – Hippocrates: “Medicine is truly the noblest of all arts” and always remember about the honor the doctor’s gown.
I also address the warmest words of gratitude to the teachers who pass their knowledge and skills to future generations of medical professionals and pharmacists.
I wish all the students, teachers and professors of higher medical and pharmaceutical education institutions inspiration, significant achievements in work and education for the benefit of the Motherland and the health of Ukrainian people, peaceful skies!
