German Federal Environment Fund Deutsche Bundesstiftung Umwelt in 2018 announces a scholarship for professional practice in Germany

Areas of science: all areas of science

Target audience: graduates of higher education institutions, young professionals, postgraduate students engaged in research and protection of environment and nature, protection of monuments.

Duration: 6-12 months.

Where: universities, research institutes, companies, authorities, NGOs.

The scholarship includes:

– 3-week intensive German language courses

– medical insurance

– monthly grant: 1.250 €

The Kupcinet-Getz International Science SchoolThe Kupcinet-Getz International Science School accepts a select number of outstanding undergraduate students each summer to participate in research projects in mathematics, physics, chemistry and the life sciences. This is an enrichment program designed for undergraduate students from all over the world who are majoring in the sciences, and it is an opportunity to experience science by becoming part of a research group at the Weizmann Institute. Participation in the Kupcinet-Getz International Science School has had a significant impact on past participants of the program, reinforcing the students’ interest in conducting research in their future careers.

As a student in this program, you will be associated with a laboratory or a theoretical research project under the supervision of an experienced scientist and, for a short period of time, will become a full-fledged member of the scientific team.

Duration of the program: 8 weeks


Participants receive a stipend of NIS 500 per week (up to NIS 4,000 in total).


All overseas students are provided with eight weeks of free rooming in the dormitories of the neighboring Faculty of Agriculture of the Hebrew University. If you arrive before the beginning of the program, or stay beyond the end of the program, you are responsible for your own living arrangements. Special circumstances will be handled on an individual basis.


There are NO application, registration, visa or tuition fees.

Travel arrangements and costs

Airfare or any other travel costs are not covered by the program. You are responsible for your own travel arrangements.

Medical Insurance

Upon arrival at the Institute, overseas students must purchase a medical insurance plan for the duration of their stay. Please note that any illness contracted before arrival in Israel are generally not covered by these types of insurance plans.

Meal Plan

You are responsible for your own meals during your stay. There are cafeterias available on campus, and cooking facilities are available in the dormitories.


Scholarship of the Scholarship Foundation of the Republic of Austria for Undergraduates, Graduates and Postgraduates

The Government of Austria allocates grants to foreign applicants for programs of various levels and specializations.

Level: research during1-4 months. Applicants can study at undergraduate, postgraduate, or postgraduate level.

Area of study or research: Natural Sciences,
Technical Sciences, Human Medicine, Health Sciences, Agricultural Sciences, Social Sciences, Humanities, Arts.

Grant size: a scholarship of EUR 1050 per month; payment of residence; possibility to get a travel grant.

Summer School of Computer Science

The Computer Science Department at ETH offers a new, exciting program that allows undergraduate and graduate students to obtain research experience in our department during the summer months. The Leibniz Institute for Plant Genetics and Crop Research in Gatersleben, Saxony-Anhalt, Germany (IPK) and its friends’ association „Gemeinschaft zur Förderung der Kulturpflanzenforschung Gatersleben e.V.“, are pleased to announce the first Call for Applications for the Visiting Programme for Scientists and advanced PhD students from Transition Countries in Europe and the former Soviet Union. The joint programme will allow young scientists a research stay at the internationally renowned IPK, member of the Leibniz Association and the largest plant research center in Europe, for three to six months. Requirements for applicants:

Salary and accommodation

The programme covers travel expenses (up to 1000 EUR) to Gatersleben and back to your affiliation. During your stay at IPK, you will receive a regular employment contract and a salary corresponding to your present status (M.Sc., PhD-student, postdoctoral researcher). IPK can provide apartments in its guesthouse according to availability or will provide assistance in finding accommodation outside the institute.
