A grand opening of the Conference began with greetings of the Rector of the NUPh, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, V.P. Chernykh. The Rector underlined the importance of scientific events of young people who are the future of our country, and he marked the importance of learning English, which traditionally is a working language of the Conference, for integration of our scientists and students into international scientific society.
A bright holiday of science began with the work of poster presentations and demonstrations of interesting scientific experiments related to the pharmaceutical science and practice. Within a framework of the visiting laboratory, the NUPh scientists surprised an audience with chemical and biological experiments, manufacture of various dosage forms. The aim of this project was to show that science is a part of the life of each of us.
Acquaintance and experience of communication with young people form other cities and countries – is another undeniable advantage of such scientific events. Academic exchanges in the NUPh have already become a good tradition. So, in March 2010, students of the Kazakh National Medical University named after S.D. Asfendiyarov visited our University. 48 universities and research institutes from Ukraine and 10 countries of the world: Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Russia, Kazakhstan, Lithuania, Saudi Arabia, Belarus, Armenia, Poland, Germany became the Conference participants.
During the plenary session, 11 reports were heard in English on a wide range of topics: from synthesis, analysis and technological aspects of production of medicines to the organization and economics of pharmacy, philosophy and humanities.
After closing of the plenary session, the work of the 22nd sections of the Conference began, where about 300 students made their reports. The collection of abstracts of the Conference, issued in 2 volumes, included 593 abstracts.
The XXIV International Scientific and Practical Conference of Young Scientists and Students “Topical Issues of New Drug Development” became a real holiday of science and once again united talented young people of the National University of Pharmacy, Ukraine and foreign countries.
