On May 16, 2015, a traditional event – jubilee meeting of the graduates – took place in the National University of Pharmacy. On this May day, specialists of pharmacy from all over Ukraine, who received diplomas in 2010, 2005, 2000, 1995, 1990, 1985, 1980, 1975 and 1970, visited their own classrooms. It was a real meeting of generations, fascinating meeting, thanks to the organizers who allowed the guests, using the “time machine”, to return to student years

Kharkiv Pharmaceutical Institute, Ukrainian Pharmaceutical Academy, National Pharmaceutical Academy of Ukraine, National University of Pharmacy. These are stages of the University development. This decades-long way took a few lines on paper, and in the timelike dimension it stretches for more than two hundred years. How much work was invested? How many generations of academic teaching staff? How many scientific works, inventions, achievements behind these lines? How many books are written and published? A huge number!

If KhPhI graduates were numbered in 300-500 specialists, in the recent years, the NUPh issues diplomas to 2,5-3 thousand graduates. Graduates who celebrated anniversaries this year in the NUPh are unique. Many of them became managers of pharmacies, chief technologist of industrial enterprises, heads of departments. About 60 graduates of 2010, 2005, 2000, 1995, 1990, 1985, 1980, 1975 and 1970 are university employees. This is evidence that National University of Pharmacy created an environment in which everyone can find a job that s/he wants to be engaged in a lifetime.

– It is a real holiday in the NUPh today – noted the First Vice-Rector, Professor A.A. Kotvitska, who was present at the ceremony not only as a representative of the University administration, but also as a guest, because she graduated in 1995. – In our university, there are a lot of bright, long-standing traditions, which we support and develop because a person has a future only knowing the past. We aim to make a large family of teachers, graduates and students, in which everyone knows each other, works for prosperity of our country, our university. Twenty years ago I received the diploma of pharmacist from the hands of Rector V.P. Chernykh and never regretted that I chose pharmacy as my lifework. I am proud of the fact that I am a small part of this vast and grand educational institution, happy that our Ukraine is a pharmaceutical country.

This year’s jubilee meeting started another tradition – creation of the Walk of graduates in the botanical garden of the NUPh. The first trees planted by graduates were majestic evergreen arborvitaes – as a symbol of gratitude to Alma mater.

Former students and now – successful specialists in this field were welcomed by deans, academic teaching staff, same-year students. After the festivities, guests attended the familiar university classrooms, Museum of History of the NUPh, favorite Departments.

About 300 graduates came to the NUPh to meet with their student youth.
