The Pharmacist’s Day of Ukraine is celebrated annually on the third Saturday of September – it was established from September 07, 1999 when the Presidential Decree No 1128/99 “On Pharmaceutical Worker Day” was signed “… in support of the initiative of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine and taking into account the significant contribution of pharmaceutical industry employees in public health… ”.
The initiator of the professional holiday was the National University of Pharmacy. This year a number of celebrations took place at the Kharkiv Regional Philharmonic.
Organizers were: Ministry of Health of Ukraine, Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine, Kharkiv Regional State Administration, Kharkiv Regional Council, Kharkiv City Council, National University of Pharmacy, Public organization “Kharkiv Regional Association of Pharmaceuticals employees ”.
The event was attended by representatives of the pharmaceutical community of Ukraine: educators, scientists, manufacturers, representatives of pharmacy chains, control and analytical institutions, distribution, public self-government, specialized media – total about 600 participants from 20 regions of Ukraine.
The morning began with the opening of the International Exhibition of Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Achievements “PharmUkraine-2019”, which was attended by: National University of Pharmacy, company “HEALTH”, JSC “Pharmac”, company “Ananta Medicare”, PJSC “Red Star” Pharmaceutical Plant, Pharmacy network “9-1-1”, company “Sanofi”, LLC “Scientific and Production Company” MICROCHIM “, LLC” INTERCHIM “, DIVO VODA, JSC” Stoma “, LLC MORION, LLC ” MEDHOUSE SVIS COMPANY “,” company “ERGOKOM ».
During the grand opening of the ceremony, the best pharmaceuticals were awarded on the occasion of the professional holiday – Pharmaceutical Worker’s Day, as well as the awarding of Honored Pharmacy Workers of Ukraine.
The rector of the National University of Pharmacy A.A. Kotvitska addressed the guests with a welcoming speech.

The scientific-practical conference “Modern Pharmacy: History, Realities and Prospects for Development” continued the holiday. The holiday ended with a holiday concert and a firework.
