Participation in the international scientific events, conferences and seminars

November 30 – December 12, 2018, Associate Professor of the Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry Taran Kateryna Anatoliivna had a business trip to Puebla, Mexico (Meritorious Autonomous University of Puebla – BUAP) in order to undergo internship and to participate in the conference and workshops on the topic “Pollution Control Environment BUAP CA-256.”

During the trip, there was held a visit to the laboratory of the Faculty of Chemical Technology (work in the laboratory on the introduction of new ways of synthesis of ionic liquids / the development of new analytical methods to determine the pollution of water and its purification). Taran K.A. participated in the work of workshops on Environmental Engineering and BUAP CA-256, and conference for undergraduate students / postgraduate students and teachers / researchers on the topic: “Application of the bipolar plasma discharge above the surface of the liquid for water purification from chemical and bacteriological contaminants” and “Drag-design at the departments of pharmaceutical and medical chemistry of the National University of Pharmacy”, as well as in the working meeting of Dr. Octavio Olivares Ksometl with postgraduate students.

According to the results of work in the laboratory, new ways of synthesis of ionic liquids were studied. Taran K.A. participated in the development of new analytical methods for the determination of water pollution and its purification. As a result of the trip, the cooperation agreement between the National University of Pharmacy and Meritorious Autonomous University of Puebla was submitted for consideration.

On November 29 – December 01, 2018, Associate Professor of the Pharmaceutical Marketing and Management Department of the NUPh L.P. Dorokhova visited the  International Business and Marketing Congress – ICBM’18, which was held at the University of Maltepe, Marmara Education Village, Istanbul, Turkey, with a report on “Fuzzy models in logistics: approaches and examples.”

On November 27-30, 2018, Head of the Department of Humanities, Associate Professor Filianina Neli Mykolaivna  and Associate Professor of the Department of Humanities Sukhanova Tetiana Yevhenivna took part in the III International Scientific and Practical Conference “Priorities of Scientific Research: Theoretical and Practical Components”, which was help at the Wyższa Szkoła Biznesu – National-Louis University, Nowy Sacz, Poland.

The following issues were discussed at the Conference: priorities of scientific research: theoretical and practical components; actual problems in social sciences and humanities; quality in the field of education and economic industry; international cooperation and integration into the European educational space, modern approaches to the modernization of the structure and content of education. There were discussed the possibilities of participation in the academic mobility programs in the field of education under Erasmus + program, etc.; the emphasis was made on the modern challenges in higher education institutions, the state of modern higher education, the introduction of innovative technologies for improvement of the quality of education, the accreditation conditions for higher education institutions. Much attention was given to the organization of the quality assurance system in higher education institutions and the experience of the Nowy Sacz School of Business in this regard.

The conference was attended by the University administration, representatives of enterprises and companies, specialists in the field of standardization, certification and quality, faculty member of higher education institutions from 7 countries – Poland, Belarus, Bulgaria, Moldova, Nigeria, Ukraine, Georgia.

During the conference, Associate Professor Filianina N.M. presented the report entitled “The humanitarian aspect of environmental education” at the Plenary Session and during the work of the Section “Perspective directions of research in the humanities”, Associate Professor Sukhanova T.Ye. presented the report entitled “Research methods for poetic texts with mythological elements” during the work of the Section “Perspective directions of research in the humanities”.

The certificates of participation in the III International Scientific and Practical Conference “Priorities of Scientific Research: Theoretical and Practical Components”, Nowy Sacz, Poland, Wyższa Szkoła Biznesu, National-Louis University was received.

On November 22-23, 2018, Assistant of the Department of Clinical Laboratory Diagnostics of the NUPh, Ph.D. in Medicine Lytvynenko H.L. took part in the IV International Congress of The Polish Association of Public Health “Public Health and Environment”, which was held at the Faculty of Pharmacy, Wroclaw Medical University, Republic of Poland.

Lytvynenko H.L. made a report on topic: «Laboratory monitoring of surface water pollution in Kharkiv region». Abstracts of the report were published in the scientific journal Public Health Forum (Poland); Lytvynenko H.L. joined the open meeting of the leadership of the Polish scientific journal “Wiadomości lekarskie”, which is part of the international scientometric database Scopus; she also took part in the section of noncommunicable chronic diseases – economic threat of the country. Lytvynenko H.L. visited the University Clinic of Wroclaw Medical University, got acquainted with the work of the Diagnostics Laboratory of the Clinic.

Lytvynenko H.L. gained knowledge on reforming of the network of healthcare institutions in the Republic of Poland and work of the Polish State Society of Public Health, and also received new data on laboratory diagnosis establishing among the population living in the zone of influence of industrial enterprises – environmental pollutants and among the population that use the guaranteed quality water from surface water sources.

As a result of the trip, there was an information exchange of experience in laboratory research of human biological fluids in order to confirm the influence of negative environmental factors and unsatisfactory parameters of the indoor microclimate on the body. Meetings were held and scientific contacts were established with representatives of higher medical institutions of EU countries, in particular Poland, Germany and the Czech Republic.

The gained experience will be implemented in the scientific and academic activities of the Department of Clinical Laboratory Diagnostics.

On November 6 – 11, 2018, a large delegation of the NUPh (19 members of the academic staff and young scientists) took part in the IX International Pharmaceutical Conference “Science and Practice 2018” at the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences (Kaunas, Lithuania).

Prof. Koshovoy O. M. and doctoral student of the Pharmacognosy Department Mikhailenko O. O. presented oral presentations at the plenary session of the Conference on the following topics: Pharmacognosy department of the National University of Pharmacy: achievements and prospects of scientific cooperation; The Use of GACP Principles for Cultivation of Iris genus Medical Plants.

  • Departments of quality standardization and certification of medicines of the Institute of Pharmacy Professionals Qualification Improvement:
  1. Stability studies of the compounding suspension from stomatitis (Lesya Savchenko)

Prof. Georgiyants V.A. and Prof. Koshovyi O.M. were selected as jury members to evaluate students’ and young scientists’ scientific works.

All members of the NUPh delegation participated in the round table with scientists from the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences and in target groups in areas of scientific interest, where the prospects for joint research projects and researches were discussed.

There were made eight oral reports, presented  scientific achievements and there was gained experience regarding modern approaches to scientific research. The Conference participants received certificates.

The report of Savchenko L.P. took the 2nd place in the nomination “scientists”, the report of Kolisnyk T.Ye. took the 3rd place in the nomination “postgraduate students”. There were established contacts with Lithuanian and Baltic specialists; prospects of joint researches  and projects were discussed.

On October 18-30, 2018 – business trip to the Medical University – Varna in order to undergo an internship under the Erasmus + KA107 grant program: Credit Mobility (for staff) Staff mobility for training within the framework of the interinstitutional agreement between the NUPh and the Medical University – Varna; Participation in the III International Partnership Forum “International Partnerships Contribution to Universities Internationalization” and the Scientific and Practical Conference “Fifth Pharmaceutical Business Forum” devoted to the 10th anniversary of the foundation of the Pharmaceutical Faculty of the Medical University -Varna  (Rector’s Assistant Yakovleva O.Yu., Head of the Academic Mobility Department Skrypnyk O.O.).

The internship program included:

  • Visit to the International Department of the Medical University of Varna (acquaintance with the organization of the University’s work on the implementation of PR strategy, branding methods used in attracting potential students to study, forms and types of questionnaires during the work of the admission committee and during studying).

Acquaintance with Svetlana Panayotova, coordinator of the international cooperation under the “Erasmus +” program of the International Relations Department of the Medical University of Varna, headed by Dr. Aneta Dokova, meeting with Professor Todorka Kostadinova, Vice-Rector for International Affairs.

  • Visit to the Faculty of Pharmacy, which marks 10 years since its foundation in October 2018.

The issue of development of cooperation was discussed with the Deputy Dean of the Faculty, Associate Professor of the Department of Medical and Biological Sciences of the research sector in pharmacology, chemistry, biochemistry and biology, Miglena Todorova and Professor of the Department of Biochemistry, Molecular Medicine and Nutrogenomics Bista Galunska who visited the NUPh under the Erasmus+ program in 2017 for the purpose of lecturing in English language for students, postgraduates and faculty members of the NUPh; now she is a grant programs coordinator of the Faculty of Pharmacy.

The NUPh delegation also had an opportunity to take part in the Scientific and Practical Conference “Fifth Pharmaceutical Business Forum” (October 25-27), during which the Bulgarian side presented the most relevant and significant achievements in the field of pharmacy and outlined prospective areas of research with higher education institutions – partners under Erasmus program.

Contacts with the School of Health of the University of Setubal (Portugal) were established to discuss opportunities for cooperation in the field of biotechnology; with the Department of Biochemistry of the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Varna – on cooperation in the field of biochemical research; with the Department of Pharmaceutical Management – on cooperation in the field of social pharmacy.

On October 3-7, 2018, delegation of the Department of Physics of the NUPh consisting of: Prof. Kokodiy M.H., Prof. Timaniuk V.O., Prof. Pohorelova S.V. participated in the XLIX International Conference «Application of Lasers in Medicine and Biology» (Haidusoboslo, Hungary).

Within the framework of the conference, the II Gamaliev readings were conducted at the initiative of the Director of the Institute of Experimental Pathology, Oncology and Radiobiology of the Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine V.F. Chekhun.

The following topics were discussed at the Conference:

  1. Photodynamic therapy (main topic).
  2. Low-intensity phototherapy.
  3. Photo diagnostics.
  4. Photo surgery.
  5. Application of photon technologies in veterinary medicine.

A particular attention was paid to the mechanisms of light action on biological objects, including humans. High efficiency, absence of negative side effects and contraindications, combined with high cost-effectiveness and low cost, makes phototherapy indispensable in certain cases of treatment.

During the conference, the exhibition of new photomedical devices for was held, as well as the exhibition of literature on photomedicine.

There were published 5 reports and 2 oral reports were made in the conference.

Participation in the conference made it possible to obtain important information on phototherapeutic devices for individual use, as well as on the methods of photonic devices usage for the treatment and prevention of the most common human diseases. As a result of communication with the participants of the Conference, contacts were established with scientists in this field from Hungary, Romania, the Netherlands, Russia and other countries.

On September 29-30, 2018, Head of the Department of Pharmacology of the National University of Pharmacy Prof. Shryhol S.Yu. took part in the Symposium “Patient oriented approach to the therapy choice. Originals and generics”, which was organized by Astellas Pharma LLC, Tbilisi, Georgia.

The symposium was attended by scientists (pharmacologists, doctors, clinical pharmacologists) from Ukraine, Georgia, the Moldavian Republic, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, etc.

The purpose of the symposium: comparative analysis of the pharmaceutical markets of original drugs and generics of the countries participating in the symposium; exchange of experience in determination of the equivalence of original and generic drugs; analysis of the role of pharmacologists in optimizing pharmacotherapy.

As a member of the program, Prof. Shrygol S.Yu. presented the report “Review of the situation with original and generic drugs in Ukraine, the role of the pharmacologist in the therapeutic process”, presented Ukraine as a country with a developed pharmaceutical industry, spoke about the features of provision of patients with drugs (the program “Available Drugs”), monitoring of the effectiveness and safety of pharmacotherapy, National University of Pharmacy as the leading institution of higher education; and also took part in the work of the “round table” devoted to the comparative analysis of the professional training features of pharmacologists in the participating countries of the symposium, exchange of experience.

On September 20-26, 2018, the NUPh delegation, consisting of the Head of Commodity Science Department Prof. Baranova I.I., Assistants of the Department Bezpala Yu.O. and Khalavka M.V., took part in the XXI International Symposium of the International Society of Goods and Technologies IGWT “Sustainability, quality and innovation: A Global view of commodity sciences”, Rome-Gaeta, Italy, on the basis of the Department of Business Studies of the University of Roma.

Prof. Baranova I.I. made a report on “Medical devices: experience of implementation of this topic for students in the pharmaceutical direction”. Poster presentations were also presented: “Development and the formation of the Pharmaceutical and Medical Commodity Science in Ukraine” (authors: Bezpala Yu.O., Baranova I.I., Khalavka M.V.), “A modern view on the study of the discipline “medical and pharmaceutical commodity science” in the National University of Pharmacy (authors: Khalavka M.V., Breusova S.V., Zaika S.V., Nikitina M.V., Semenov D.V.).

According to the results of the trip, a preliminary consent was received for the inclusion in the list of research areas of the branch of the public organization “Ukrainian Society of Goods and Technologies” (a collective member of the International Society of Goods and Technology IGWT) of “PHARMACEUTICAL AND MEDICAL COMMODITY SCIENCE”.

There were established professional contacts with representatives in the area of commodity science with the purpose of future cooperation: Prof. Sabka Pashova (Commodity Science Department, University of Economics in Varna); Prof. Zenon Foltynowicz (Faculty of Commodity Science, Poznan University of Economics); Prof. Rodica Pamfilie (Faculty of Business & Tourism, Bucharest University of Economics).

On September 16 – 22, 2018, Assistant of the Department of Clinical Pharmacology and Clinical Pharmacy Herasymenko O.V. participated in the Lipid Metabolism Workshop organized by the American Salon Institute of the American Austrian Foundation for researchers at the invitation of the Open Medical Institute, Salzburg, Austria.

30 scientists-medical professionals from 23 countries of the world, selected from more than 2,300 applicants, took part in the educational seminar. The seminar was led by: Prof. Philip Barter – President of the International Atherosclerosis Society and Professor of Medicine at the University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia Antonio M. Gotto – Honorary Dean of the Weill Cornel Medical University in New York, USA, Prof. Jenifer Robinson – Deputy Chairman of the Board of the American Heart Association and Professor of the Department of Epidemiology and Medicine (Department of Cardiology), Director of the Center for the Prevention of Operative Intervention at the University of Iowa, USA, Prof. Michal Vrabik – Professor of Internal Medicine at the 1st Faculty of Medicine Charles University in Prague, Czech Republic, Prof. Gilles Lambert – Professor of Cell Biology and Biochemistry at the University of La Réunion Medical School and leader of the Inserm UMR1188 laboratory group, DéTROI, France. Prof. Assistant Rekha B.Kumar – Assistant of the Professor of Medicine at Weil Cornel College of Medicine in New York, USA.

Under the program of the seminar, Assistant Gerasimenko O.V. he has listened to 20 lectures and presented a clinical case of a patient with malignant hyperlipidemia who was in on-line treatment in the neurological department of the hospital of the NNMC KhNMU “University Clinic”, and also took part in the discussion of the working group on family hyperlipidemia. Ac Herasymenko O.V.  listened to the reports of clinical cases of all other participants and took an active part in the discussion of approaches to the treatment of these patients.

After the seminar, Assistant Herasymenko O.V. passed the test with excellent result and was awarded the confirmation certificate among the best five students.

Assistant Herasymenko O.V.  underwent international internship within the framework of the seminar, received an appropriate certificate, and was involved in a professional association for the study of atherosclerosis (International Atherosclerosis Society) and received 34 DFP (34 CCE hours of postgraduate education of doctors provided by the Austrian Chamber of Physicians).

12-14.09.2018, the NUPh delegation consisting of the Associate Professor of the Department of Industrial Technology of Drugs Maslii Yu.S. and Herbina N.A., as well as the postgraduate student of the Department Kolisnyk T.Ye. participated in the 47th conference “Synthesis and analysis of drugs” on the basis of the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Veterinary and Pharmaceutical Sciences, Brno, the Czech Republic.

Participants reported at the poster session: Assoc. Prof. Maslii Yu.S. with the report on topic “The choice of intense sweetener in the composition of medicated chewing gum under development” and postgraduate student of the Department of Industrial Technology of Drugs Kolisnyk T.Ye. with the report “Design and evaluation of antidiabetic sustained release matrix tablets containing herbal extract”, which are disclosed to their dissertation researches.

During the trip, the NUPh delegation visited the Department of Technology of Drugs of the University of Veterinary and Pharmaceutical Sciences, where they got acquainted with the organization of the educational process, educational and scientific laboratories, equipment and scientific directions of the Department.

Based on the trip results, the relevant certificates and the collection of conference materials with abstracts of the above-mentioned representatives of the NUPh were received. An agreement was reached on the possibility of further cooperation between scientists of the Department of Industrial Technology of Drugs of the NUPh and the Department of Drug Technology of the University of Brno.

September 3-11, 2018 – participation in the International Conference of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society “Modeling and Experiments in Drug Delivery Systems (MEDDS)” (Head of the Industrial Technology of Drugs Department Prof. Ruban O.A., Prof. Vyshnevska L.I., Head of the Pharmacy-based Technology of Drugs Department Prof. Polovko T.M., Head of the Botany Department Prof. Hontova T.M., Senior Lecturer of the Department of Industrial Pharmacy and Economics of the IPhPQI Yakovenko V.K., Teaching Assistant Khalavka M.V. and postgraduate student of the Industrial Technology of Drugs Department Yakovenko O.V., student of the Pharmaceutical Faculty Misha D.O.). Postgraduate student Yakovenko O.V. made an oral report on topic: “Some aspects of the design of an anti-stress medicated chewing gum” at the seminar.

There were presented poster presentations: “Features of treatment of enterobiasis in accordance with the guidelines by Médecins Sans Frontières” – Prof. Vyshnevska L.I., “Determination of the effect of onium hexafluorosilicates on the properties of gels” – Prof. Polovko N.P.

During this business trip, the delegation visited the University of Glasgow, the London School of Pharmacy, the Royal Pharmaceutical Museum, the Royal Botanic Garden, Glasgow, London (United Kingdom).

During the visit to the Royal Pharmaceutical Society, the possibility for the NUPh employees to join the Society was agreed, which will give them access to the online archive and the unhindered opportunity to publish scientific papers in the journals of the Elsevier publishing house.

On August 25-29, 2018, Professor of the Department of Pharmacoeconomics Bezditko N.V. took part in the Annual Congress of the European Society of Cardiology (Munich, Germany) in the delegation of Ukrainian specialists in cardiology.

The Congress is considered to be a significant annual event not only in European, but also in world cardiology. More than 33 thousand participants (doctors, representatives of companies producing medicines and medical equipment) from 150 countries, including more than 100 doctors from Ukraine took part in the Congress.

Scientific program of the Congress included more than 500 symposia and sessions with participation of the recognized international experts from different countries. The Congress covered 400 topics on cardiology and concomitant conditions. Prof. Eugene Braunwald (USA) delivered a programmatic speech.

Plenary session at the opening of the Congress was devoted to the issues of the relationship between academic institutions and manufacturing companies. On the first day, an exhibition of pharmaceutical companies was visited, at which the most modern medicines for the pharmacotherapy of cardiovascular diseases were presented.

In the following days of the Congress, the results of several dozens of controlled studies were presented within the “hot lines”, allowing obtaining evidence on the appropriateness (clinical and economic) of the use of certain drugs for the treatment of certain cardiovascular diseases in certain categories of patients, especially patients with comorbid pathology. Particular attention should be paid to the use of ASC in patients without risk factors, the use of serotonin agonists in patients with diabetes mellitus, the advantages of new antiplatelet agents over direct-acting anticoagulants.

There were also attended the meetings where new recommendations on diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular diseases in pregnant women, primary prevention of coronary heart disease, myocardial revascularization were made public. A particularly important development was the emergence of new recommendations on the treatment of hypertension, which to some extent changed the definition of the target ranges of AO in different demographic and clinical categories of patients.

In total, 10 educational sessions were held on general issues of cardiology, emergency care, medical statistics, clinical studies, algorithms for establishing a clinical diagnosis, E-learning.

Access to interactive web-educational resources in the field of cardiology and pharmacotherapy of cardiovascular diseases was obtained.

As a result of the trip, a certificate of professional development with a total of 32 European credits was received.
