Affiliation, the contingent of foreign students of NUPh

Due to realization of wide-ranging professional orientation work, cycles of travels to the neighbouring countries and beyond, the contingent of foreign citizens in NUPh in 2011-2012 academic year has considerably grown in comparison with the previous year.

The total number of foreign students in 2011-2012 academic year is 1206 people from 55 countries of the world (the foreigners’ contingent in 2010-2011 academic year was 959 people from 48 countries of the world). This rate is the biggest in the last 10 years.

The number of foreign citizens in NUPh in 2011-2012 academic year is twice bigger than the number of the previous year and thrice bigger than that one of 2009-2010 academic year, which is 539 students:

–         1st year – 291 students from 28 countries (the 14% bigger rate compared to the affiliation of 2011/2011 academic year);

–         2nd -5th years – 95 students;

–         Citizens of CIS – 70 students;

–         Preparatory department– 224 attendants from 24 countries of the world.

From the start of implementing training of foreign students in English in NUPh (in 2001), every year the demand on this form of study is growing. In 2011-2012 academic year the contingent of students who have chosen training in English was 397 people, on the first year of training up to 200 students were affiliated from Vietnam, Egypt, Zambia, Iraq, Iran, Kenya, Cyprus, Lebanon, Mauritius, Nigeria, Portugal, Syria, Slovakia, Sudan, USA, Tanzania, Uganda who expressed their preferences and capability to study in English.
