Oleksandr Kotenko was born on 18 december 1956 year in the town Panyutyne Lozivskiy district Kharkov region.

He was studying in Kharkov Pharmaceutical Institute from 1974 till 1979, he graduated with honors. He was studying in postgraduate studies from 1979 till 1982, after graduating defended the dissertation «The research and use of pectins in technology corrected with medication Flamini and caffeine sodium benzoate».

He was working in the National Pharmaceutical University till 1982: as the assistant of organic chemistry department (1982 – 1983), of industrial technology of drugs department (1983 – 1984), of pharmacy drug technology department (1984 – 1989), a docent of pharmacy drug technology department (1990 – 2010).

He defended his doctoral dissertation «Theoretical and experimental substantiation of the  formulation of the bee pollen lipophilic extract and medecines based on it» in 2010.

Oleksandr Kotenko has been working as a professor of technologies drugs department since 2010.

Social activities:

Within the period of 22 years, from 1993 to 2015, simultaneously with the work of a teacher Kotenko O.M. worked as a director of the Publishing Center of the National University of Pharmacy. Since 1988 he has been working at various positions at the university’s admissions office. He was awarded the certificates of the Kharkiv City Council of People’s Deputies (1996); Kyiv District Council of People’s Deputies of Kharkiv (1997); Pharmaceutical Department of Kharkiv Regional State Administration (2000); Ministry of Health of Ukraine (2001); The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine (2005); National Pharmaceutical University (2006, 2013); Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine (2007); awarded with the sign “Excellence in Education of Ukraine” (2010); He was awarded the honorary title “Honored Teacher of the National University of Pharmacy” (2016).
