On March 21, 2023, a meeting of the European Regional Group of the US Pharmacopoeia was held in Basel (Switzerland). Convention members and stakeholders were invited to participate.
At the meeting, the prospects of cooperation and harmonization of requirements for the quality of medicinal products, the joint fight against the distribution of falsified medicinal products, current issues of quality control and standardization in the international aspect were discussed.
Ukraine was represented at the meeting by members of the Convention – the State Medical Service of Ukraine on Medicines and Drug Control, the Ukrainian Scientific Pharmacopoeial Center for the Quality of Medicines, and the National University of Pharmacy. The head of the Pharmaceutical Chemistry Department, Professor Victoriya Georgiyants, is the representative of the National University of Pharmacy at the USP Convention. She took part in the meeting in a remote format and presented a report on the prospects of cooperation in the area of pharmacopoeial standardization. Professor Oleksandr Zdoryk, professor of the Department of Pharmaceutical Technologies and Quality Assurance of the Institute of Advanced Training of Pharmacy Specialists, was also invited to participate in the meeting.
