On November 22, 2024, the II Scientific and Practical Remote Conference MODERN ANTIMICROBIAL THERAPY: PROBLEMS AND WAYS OF IMPROVEMENT was held at the Department of Clinical Laboratory Diagnostics, Microbiology And Biological Chemistry of the National University of Pharmacy.

The Conference topics included topical issues of pharmaceutical microbiology, prospects for the creation of antimicrobial drugs and their application in medical practice, the study of antibiotic resistance of microorganisms and the determination of ways to overcome it, clinical pathophysiology of infectious diseases, epidemiology of infectious diseases in modern conditions, clinical immunology and allergology, immunological, virological, molecular genetic studies in laboratory diagnostics, a modern view on the correction of immunopathological conditions, prospects for the creation of immunobiological drugs. The materials of the scientific and practical conference also considered issues of modern biotechnology, microbiological aspects of phytopathology, pharmacological correction of infectious pathology, preclinical studies, pharmaceutical care in the use of antimicrobial drugs, the role of a pharmacist (clinic pharmacist) in ensuring the rational use of medicines, optimization of technological processes for the creation of drugs for chemotherapy and chemoprophylaxis of infectious diseases, genetics of microorganisms, issues of teaching microbiology, virology and immunology, sanitary microbiology, information technologies and automation of scientific research on the development of antimicrobial drugs, marketing research of the modern pharmaceutical market of chemotherapeutic drugs.

Of particular interest were issues of SARS-COV2 variability and its consequences, complications of COVID-19, especially among patients with varicose, and the modern nomenclature of vaccines against COVID-19.
