On October 3, 2012 the meeting of Rector of the National University of Pharmacy Valentin Petrovich Chernykh and Vice-rector on scientific work Kovalenko Sergey Nikolaevich with the Director General of the Association of Russian Pharmaceutical Manufacturers (ARPM), member of the Council for Development of the Pharmaceutical and Medical Industry for the Russian Government Viktor Aleksandrovich Dmitriev took place.

The purpose of the meeting was bilateral personal acquaintance and familiarization with the activity and structure of both organization, and discussion of the possible ways of cooperation.

ARPM unites leading Russian pharmaceutical enterprises, which account for over 80% of drugs produced in the country, about 45% of export and over 75% of domestic drugs in the program of supplying with necessary drugs.

ARPM represents the interests of major Russian pharmaceutical producers and increases the competitiveness of the domestic pharmaceutical industry. Special assignment of ARPM is to promote the switching of Russian producers to GMP and / or ISO standards.

ARPM mission:

• to develop the leading socially responsible pharmaceutical manufacturers that can provide patients with quality, modern and affordable medicines.

The purpose of the Association:

•  to create, maintain and protect the interests of the modern Russian pharmaceutical industry capable of providing strategic independence for the Russian Federation in the matters of meeting the needs of Russian citizens for necessary, affordable and high-quality medicines.

The objectives of the Association are:

•  development of the Russian pharmaceutical industry that is capable of providing the population of Russia to the extend required with affordable, modern, high-quality medicines for the healthcare needs of the population as one of the main components of the national security system;

•  protection of the interests of the Russian pharmaceutical industry in the state legislative, executive and judiciary bodies;

•  participation in the formation of a model of Russia’s entry into the World Trade Organization (WTO) that  provides protection and development of the Russian pharmaceutical industry;

  • switch to advanced technologies and quality standards in the Russian pharmaceutical industry;
  • development and implementation of measures that promote the push of products of Russian pharmaceutical manufacturers;
  • development of the system of staff training and retraining for the pharmaceutical industry, promoting the creation of new jobs;
  • construction of a civilized market of medicines in Russia;
  • implementation and protection of the principles of free competition;
  • active combating the spread of counterfeit and illicit medicines;
  • support of scientific research in medical and pharmaceutical industries, support of implementation of scientific achievements and innovations in the practical activity of pharmaceutical manufacturers.

The meeting was held in a friendly, warm atmosphere. All parties concerned have reached the target that was set.
