On September 18, 2024, an external meeting of the Board of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine was held based on the National University of Pharmacy under the chairmanship of the Minister of Health of Ukraine Viktor Lyashko. The Chief of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration Oleg Synegubov, Deputy Chief of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration Olena Logvynova, Director of the Department of Health Protection of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration Tetyana Demenko, as well as members of the Board of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine – Roman Isayenko, head of the State Service of Ukraine of medicines and drug control, Mykhailo Babenko, director of the State Expert Center of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, and Viktor Lysak, director of the Department of Health Protection of the Poltava Regional State Administration took part in the meeting.

During the meeting, strategic directions for the development of pharmaceutical education were considered, the project of which was developed by a group of experts of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine under the direction of ‘Pharmacy. Clinical pharmacy. Clinical pharmacology’ under the chairmanship of acting rector of the NUPh Alla Kotvitska and the scientific community of the University.

Acting rector Alla Kotvitska presented strategic directions for the development of pharmaceutical education in Ukraine: staffing of the pharmaceutical sector of the health care system; improving the quality of pharmaceutical education; development of scientific research; international cooperation and exchange of experience; development of academic culture and integrity in pharmaceutical education.

The meeting of the Board ended with the approval of the decision on the presented strategic directions for the development of pharmaceutical education in Ukraine, in particular regarding the introduction of a dual form of obtaining education in the specialization Pharmacy of the specialty Pharmacy, industrial pharmacy from the 2025/2026 academic year and the preparation of relevant proposals to the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine regarding amendments to the corresponding standard of higher education of the second (master’s) level; working out the issue of creation and functioning of educational and production pharmacies at university hospitals (university clinics); revision of the structure and content of the test components of the Unified state qualification exams and development Regulations on authors and reviewers of test tasks; development of a methodology for analyzing the needs of the healthcare industry in pharmaceutical personnel.

On the eve of the anniversary of the 25th Day of the Pharmaceutical Worker of Ukraine, Viktor Lyashko presented an honorary certificate of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine to the staff of the NUPh for many years of conscientious work, high professionalism, dedication to work, significant achievements and on the occasion of the professional holiday, and also presented gratitude from the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and certificates of honor and thanks from the Ministry of Health of Ukraine to the employees of the University.

As part of the visit, the Minister of Health of Ukraine, Viktor Lyashko, visited historical monuments that were opened for the 100th anniversary of the University – ‘Time Capsule’ and the sculptural composition ‘Phenomenon of Health Sciences’, which symbolizes humanity’s gratitude to laboratory animals for their contribution in scientific discoveries and became the first such in Ukraine.

The educational and scientific training laboratory of medical and biological research was presented to the Minister of Health of Ukraine, which was created in 2019 and combined a vivarium, a training center and the Central Research Laboratory. Today, it is a scientific-methodical and experimental center of the University for conducting research on the development of pharmaceutical substances, medicinal products and the study of their pharmacological properties; fundamental research in experimental biochemistry, hematology, pathomorphology, etc. The material and technical base of the educational and scientific training laboratory of medical and biological research meets modern standards of good laboratory practice (GLP).

During the visit of the Minister of Health of Ukraine, scientists also presented the developments created at the NUPh to meet the needs of the military, namely PLANTOR – the original representative of a new pharmacological group of contact hemostatics, GLYUTSINKOVIT – a drug of a new group of frigoprotectors, which increases the body’s resistance to exposure to cold and HEMOSTATIK – a corrugated bandage, a local hemostatic agent with an antiseptic effect, designed to stop external bleeding.
