The combination of arterial hypertension (AH) with diabetes mellitus (DM) is a rather urgent health problem. Typically, such patients have overweight and disorder of lipid and carbohydrate metabolism, endothelial dysfunction. The central obesity can stimulate the development of hyperglycemia, hyperinsulinemia and insulin resistance. In addition, an independent marker of a cardiovascular risk in hypertensive patients is microalbuminuria (MAU), which reflects endothelial dysfunction. The aim of the study was the development of effective pharmacological treatment approaches for hypertensive patients with diabetes mellitus of type 2. The levels of MAU, carbohydrate metabolism, blood lipids, daily blood pressure monitoring data before and after treatment with a combination of antihypertensive medicines in patients with hypertension on the background of diabetes mellitus of type 2 have been studied. It is important for optimizing the treatment schemes, for reducing a cardiovascular risk and the safety of the medicines prescribed.

Key words: MAU, daily monitoring of the blood pressure, hypertension, diabetes mellitus of type 2
