XXXIth scientific and practical conference with international participation “Medicines to people. Contemporary issues of pharmacotherapy and prescription of medicines” took place on May 22, 2014, at the Department of Pharmacotherapy of the National University of Pharmacy

The conference was held at the municipal healthcare facility “Kharkiv City student hospital” with the support of the chief doctor – Bakumenko Maryna Grygorivna.

Pharmacotherapy Department of the National University of Pharmacy was the organizer of scientific and practical conference “Medicines to people. Contemporary issues of pharmacotherapy and prescription of medicines.”

Conference “Medicines to people” is an important step in the program of postgraduate education of doctors and pharmacists from the standpoint of efficient and safe use of the principles of pharmacotherapy, focusing on the interchangeability of medicines in the context of comorbidity and patients of different age groups.

The conference promotes cooperation and implementation of the results of experiments into practical medicine as well as the most successful and justified use of medicines of domestic producers in the framework of the national program of import substitution.

The XXXIth All-Ukrainian scientific and practical conference with international participation “Medicines to people. Contemporary issues of pharmacotherapy and prescription of medicines” was devoted to the problems of pharmacotherapy of lung diseases, namely: pharmacotherapy of COPD in adults, tobacco smoking, Wegener’s granulomatosis, bronchial asthma in children, allergic rhinitis.

Results of experimental and clinical research, aspects of the study and introduction of new medicines, preclinical pharmacological studies of biologically active substances of natural and synthetic origin, issues of the features of teaching biomedical and clinical disciplines in higher education were released during the breakout session of the Conference.

Representatives of many departments participated in the Conference: institutions of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine (hospitals, dispensaries, out-patient clinics, etc.), professional improvement institutions for medical professionals and educational medical and pharmaceutical HEIs from all over Ukraine (Kyiv, Lviv, Donetsk, Kharkiv, Odessa, etc.) – Doctors of Medical and Pharmaceutical Sciences, Heads of the medical and pharmaceutical higher education institutions, Professors, Candidates of Medical and Pharmaceutical Sciences, doctors, pharmacists, specialists in the field of pharmaceutical research and quality control of medicines.

Special feature of the event was the use of modern Internet technologies that allowed in real-time mode gather in one place healthcare professionals from different cities of Ukraine and abroad.
