On March 14, 2025, the NUPh Department of Management, Marketing and Quality Assurance in Pharmacy held a scientific and practical seminar for the World Consumer Rights Day.
This day is an important reminder of the need to protect consumer rights in all areas of economic activity. Such events contribute to raising awareness about the safety of goods and services consumed by people and the development of relevant legislation, as well as strengthening consumer confidence in the market and ensuring their rights in a globalized environment.
The speakers of the seminar were professors and associate professors of the National University of Pharmacy.
The seminar was opened by Volodymyr MALIY, Doctor of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Professor, Head of the Department of Management, Marketing and Quality Assurance in Pharmacy. He congratulated the participants on World Consumer Rights Day, wishing them success in their work and new scientific achievements.
Tetyana KRUTSKIKH, Professor of the Department of Management, Marketing and Quality Assurance in Pharmacy, delivered a report on the topic ‘Protection of Consumer Rights: History, International Experience and National Strategies of Ukraine’. She emphasized the importance of adapting national strategies to international standards to ensure effective protection of consumer rights. Particular attention was paid to improving approaches taking into account global trends, which allows ensuring a high level of protection and compliance with modern market requirements.
Svitlana KOVALENKO, Professor of the Department of Management, Marketing and Quality Assurance in Pharmacy, emphasized the importance of proper packaging and labelling of medicines for effective protection of consumer rights. She noted that proper packaging and labelling is one of the key means of preventing the falsification of medicines, which directly affects consumer safety. The report also discussed the main approaches that contribute to increasing the level of trust in medicines and ensuring effective protection of consumer rights.
Tetyana ZBOROVSKA, Associate Professor of the Department of Management, Marketing and Quality Assurance in Pharmacy, highlighted important aspects of consumer protection in the circular economy, including issues of transparency of production processes, product safety guarantees, producer responsibility and increasing consumer awareness of sustainable consumption.
The scientific and practical seminar became an important platform for discussing consumer protection issues, bringing together specialists and the academic community. The event contributed to the exchange of experience, the development of new ideas and approaches in ensuring consumer rights. The participants thanked the organizers for the opportunity for fruitful cooperation and expressed hope for further constructive meetings.
