Alla Anatoliivna Kotvitska was born in 1972 in Kharkiv. In 1989, she graduated from the secondary school № 1 of Zmiiv with a silver medal. In 1990, she entered and, in 1995, graduated from the Ukrainian Pharmaceutical Academy in “Pharmacy” specialty. In 2003, she graduated with honors from the V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University in “Banking Management” specialty. In 2015, she received a diploma with honors of the NUPh for the educational-qualification level “Master” in “Pedagogy of Higher School” specialty. She fulfilled the competence requirements for “Quality Manager” in accordance with ISO 9001: 2008 international standard. She completed the foreign language course (English) at the Linguistic Center of the Faculty of Foreign Languages ​​of the V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University at the Intermediate level. In 2017, she graduated from the specialization cycle at the Kharkiv Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education with the title of medical specialist in the field of “Clinical laboratory diagnostics”.

From 1995 to 2001, she was a PhD student with off-the-job training. In 2002, he defended her dissertation for scientific degree of the Candidate of Pharmaceutical Sciences and she was awarded the title of Associate Professor in 2004. In 2008, she defended her dissertation for the degree of Doctor of Pharmaceutical Sciences on the topic: “Methodology of socially effective organization of pharmaceutical provision for population”, and was awarded the academic rank of professor in 2011.

Alla Anatoliivna worked as a laboratory assistant at the Department of Organization and Economics of Pharmacy of Kharkiv Pharmaceutical Institute (1989) and as a pharmacist at LLC “Magik” (1995). Her research and teaching career of Alla Anatoliivna began at the Department of Organization and Economics of Pharmacy: Assistant (2001-2002), Associate Professor (2003-2009), Professor of the Department of Organization and Economics of Pharmacy of the NUPh (2009-2011), Academic Secretary of the Research Department of the NUPh (2003-2007), Head of the Scientific methodological (scientific research) laboratory on pharmaceutical education (2007-2008), Vice-Rector for scientific and pedagogical work (multi-cycle pharmaceutical education of the NUPh (2008-2014). From 2011 to 2015, she headed the first department of social pharmacy in Ukraine. Since 2014, she held a position of the First Vice-Rector for scientific and pedagogical work of the NUPh. On November 16, 2017, staff of the National University of Pharmacy elected Alla Anatoliivna Kotvitska as the NUPh Rector.

Public activity: head of the Rector’s Council of the NUPhHead of the Specialized Scientific Council D 64.605.02 in specialty 15.00.01 – “Technology of Drugs, Organization of Pharmaceutical Business and Forensic Pharmacy” (since 2013), Head of the Central Methodological Council of the NUPh, member of the Joint Council of Departments and Cyclic Methodical Commission of the NUPh for organizational and economic direction of training, member of the Approbation Commission of the NUPh in specialty 15.00.01, Chief Editor of the professional edition “Social pharmacy in health” (since 2015), Deputy Editor of the “Pharmaceutical journal”, editorial member of professional journals: “Management, Economics and Quality Assurance in Pharmacy” (since 2008), “Clinical Pharmacy” (since 2012), “Pharmaceutical Journal” (since 2015), as well as a member of the editorial board of a specialized journal “Modern Pharmacy” (since 2016). She is also a member of the board of the All-Ukrainian Public Association “Chamber of Pharmacy” (since 2014), has membership in the All-Ukrainian Public Organization “Pharmaceutical Professional Association of Ukraine” (since 2014), member of the Executive Committee of the Separated Subdivision of the All-Ukrainian NGO “Sports Student Union of Ukraine” in the Kharkiv region.

Over the years of professional her activity, she participated in the working group approved by the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, in particular: on development of the project Concept of the State Target Program “Development of import substituting industries in Ukraine and substitution of imported medicines by domestic ones, including biotech drugs and vaccines” in 2012-2020 (since 2011); on review of materials for drugs used for treatment and prevention of influenza and SARS (since 2014); on preparation of the draft Law of Ukraine “On Medicines” (since 2015); was Deputy Chairman of the Working Group on the Draft Concept of the Integrated Program of Import Substitution of Medicines (since 2016).

According to the educational direction of social activity, she is a member of the Coordination Group on formation of the list of specialties, which directs higher education seekers in the field of knowledge “Healthcare”, relevant higher education degrees and qualifications (since 2015), member of the working group on formation of proposals to the higher education standards in specialties of the field of knowledge “Healthcare” (specialty “Pharmacy”) (since 2015). Alla Anatoliivna participated in the development of the draft Concept for the development of the pharmaceutical industry in Ukraine, a range of draft state regulatory legal acts, laws, decrees of the Cabinet of Ministers and orders of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, the Ethical Code of Pharmaceutical Workers of Ukraine. She performed duties of the responsible secretary of the organizing committee on preparation for the VІІ National Congress of Pharmacists of Ukraine and was a member of the Organizing Committee on preparation of the VIII National Congress of Pharmacists of Ukraine. She was acting member of organizing committees of various scientific and practical forums, including international and with international participation. Since 2012, she is the chairman of the organizing committee of the Annual International Scientific and Practical Internet Conference “Social Pharmacy: State, Problems and Prospects”.

She takes an active part in the establishment and development of educational and scientific relations and systematic cooperation with leading universities of Europe, in particular the University of Comenius, Bratislava (Slovakia); the Higher Medical School, Sosnowiec; the Humanitarian University, Sosnowiec; Silesia Medical University, Katowice (Poland); Lithuanian Medical University, Kaunas, Lithuania and others.

Alla Anatoliivna Kotvitska has the following state awards: Honorary Certificate of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine (2005), Diploma of the regional competition “Higher School of the Kharkiv Region – the best names” in the nomination “Young Scientist” (2005), Honorary Certificate of the NUPh (2009), Honorary Certificate of the Supreme Council of Ukraine (2010), Honorary Certificate of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine (2013), Honorary title of the Honored Worker of Science and Technology of Ukraine (2014).
