Summer Program for Students from Ukraine
The University of Waterloo invites applications for its fourth Summer Internship Program for students at risk from Ukraine.
This program will run from May 5 to August 22, 2025, and is designed for students from Ukrainian universities whose studies have been affected by Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Preference is given to students registered at Ukrainian universities in a fourth-year bachelor’s and any level master’s or doctoral programs for the current academic year (2024/2025).
Eligibility:
- senior bachelor (3rd or 4th year), master or Ph.D. student as of Fall 2024
- enrolled in the current academic year (2024/2025) at a Ukrainian university
- specialization in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or other research area presented at the University of Waterloo
- must have an overall GPA of at least 80% in their undergraduate studies and 85% for their graduate programs
- strong English proficiency is required for efficient academic communications (approximate minimum levels: TOEFL ~80, IELTS ~6.5, Cambridge ~175, CAEL ~60, PTE ~60, EFAS ~75%, Duolingo ~110)
Duration: May 5, 2025 to August 22, 2025.
Funding: All essential travel, housing, and on-campus expenses are covered by the program.

- Resume / CV
- Academic transcripts for all programs (English or Ukrainian)
- Personal statement (up to 300 words explaining your relevant experience, your interest in the program, and its connection to your career plans)
- Academic recommendation letter
- A copy of your English proficiency exam score (if available)
- A copy of your Canadian visa/confirmation of visa application (if available)
Timeline: Applicants are encouraged to apply at the earliest possibility as applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis. The final application submission deadline is 9:00 am EST, Dec. 1, 2024. All applicants will be notified of the final decision on their application by Dec. 31, 2024.

German DAAD scholarship program
The Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Germany provides:
- master’s scholarships for study in Germany,
- research grants for young scientists,
- research scholarships for teachers and scientists.
Deadline for all programs: November 15

Dear students!
The Center for International Career Guidance and External Relations announces a competition for participation in credit mobility with the University of Tartu (Estonia) with the financial support of the European Commission within the framework of the Erasmus+ KA171 joint project.
The competition has been announced for 4 vacancies for EP Pharmacy from the 2nd to the 5th year. Mobility will take place during the spring semester of 2024-2025 and is designed for 5 months (February-June 2025).
Payment of living expenses is 1050 euros per month. The grant is paid for the period of living and studying in Tartu and on the condition of obtaining temporary protection in Estonia (or another EU country). Documents for Estonian temporary protection can be submitted upon arrival in Estonia at the beginning of the spring semester, if the following requirements are met:
- you were in Ukraine when the war started (left Ukraine after February 24, 2022)
- you do not have an Estonian or other Schengen visa

Travel abroad is carried out in accordance with the current normative legal acts and the Rules for crossing the state border by citizens of Ukraine.

In the event that the applicant reports knowledge of the English language without a confirming certificate, the level of knowledge will be checked by a university employee.

The Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and the Austrian Agency for Education and Internationalization have announced a competition for joint Ukrainian-Austrian research projects for implementation in 2025-2026, which lasts until October 25, 2024.
The competition is open to any research groups of institutions of higher education, scientific institutions of both countries in all scientific disciplines and thematic areas, including social sciences and humanities.

Free online courses on European studies
On behalf of the Department of Political Science at the University of Latvia we would like to inform you that in the autumn semester of 2024 we will offer several online intensive modules in European studies in English. The modules is specially designed for participants (students and civil servants) from Ukraine and Moldova to equip participants with skills and knowledge, considering Ukraine`s and Moldova`s closer integration and potential membership in the EU.
The modules:
We will offer the following modules:
- European studies – Domestic Affairs (12 ECTS) will cover following topics: policy analysis, policy making, good governance, Latvian experience being a EU country, change management, public diplomacy and strategic communication. The module will take place between of September 9-October 5.
- European studies – Foreign Affairs (12 ECTS) will cover topics like foundation of EU, institutions of EU History of EU enlargement, EU integration theories, Europeanization process, Economic Europeanization, Political Europeanization, regionalisation, Europeanisation and national identity. The module will take place online between October 7-October 31.
- European studies – Domestic Affairs/ Accession issues for public servants, employees of local governments and teachers of universities (6 ECTS) with topics: good governance, evidence based policy making, accession negotiations process and tactics; policy analysis, management of reforms, policy coordination, strategic communication, internal coordination of accession process, membership obligations, EU project management. The module will take place November 5-November 22.
All modules will be online (via Zoom) during evening sessions (18.00-21.00).
The participants will receive credit points (ECTS) which will be supported by special certificates based on the attendance records. Certificates will be issued for any participant with at least 33% of attendance.
The participants are free to decide on the total number of modules they would like to attend.
