On February 12, 2025, the National University of Pharmacy hosted a scientific and practical seminar Ukrainian Women Who Inspire: Women Scientists of Today to mark the International Day of Women and Girls in Science

On February 12, 2025, the scientific and practical seminar Ukrainian Women Who Inspire: Women Scientists of Today to mark the International Day of Women and Girls in Science was held.
Every year on February 11, the world celebrates the International Day of Women and Girls in Science. It was proclaimed by a resolution of the UN General Assembly to achieve full and equal access of women and girls to science, ensure gender equality, and empower women.

The participants of the event were welcomed by the vice-rector for scientific and pedagogical work, Professor Inna VLADYMYROVA, and the head of the Center for International Career Guidance and External Relations, Halyna HRYHORIV.

The plenary speeches were dedicated to modern directions of pharmaceutical, biomedical and chemical science:

The report ‘The path from molecule to medicine’ was presented by Lyudmila KUCHERENKO, head of the Department of Pharmaceutical, Organic and Bioorganic Chemistry of Zaporizhzhya State Medical and Pharmaceutical University;
Tetyana VODOTYKA, candidate of historical sciences, academic director of the master’s program ‘Urban Studies and Post-War Reconstruction’ of the Kyiv School of Economics, editor-in-chief of the journal ‘City: History, Culture, Society’, author of books on the history of Ukrainian cities and the history of Ukrainian business, told about her scientific path;
Yulia SHLAPA, candidate of chemical sciences, senior researcher, senior research fellow of the Department of Solid State Chemistry of the V. I. Vernadsky Institute of General and Inorganic Chemistry of the NAS of Ukraine (Kyiv); laureate of the VI Ukrainian Prize For Women in Science — 2024, which is part of the L’ORÉAL-UNESCO Program For Women in Science, and Olesya KULYK, Deputy Director of the Institute of Chemistry of Functional Materials of the Scientific and Technological Research Council Institute of Single Crystals of the NAS of Ukraine, Candidate of Chemical Sciences, Associate Professor (in 2024 she was among the top ten finalists of the 6th season of the L’Oréal-UNESCO Prize For Women in Science), not only presented their scientific research but also shared their successful experience of participating in the prestigious L’Oréal-UNESCO Prize For Women in Science;
Lidia Petrushova, Associate Professor of the Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry of the National University of Pharmacy, Visiting Professor at the University of Palermo, shared the Italian experience of scientific cooperation;
4th year students of the educational program Pharmacy Anastasia RYZHUK and Victoriia VASYLCHENKO shared their impressions of their stay under the Erasmus+ program at the University of Burgundy (France) and the University of Helsinki (Finland).
At the end of the seminar, there was a Q&A session.
