On May 16, 2024, an educational seminar was held on the topic ‘Peculiarities of the organization of pharmacy work under martial law’

On May 16, 2024 assoc. prof. Alina Volkova and prof. Hanna Panfilova conducted an educational seminar on the topic ‘Peculiarities of the organization of the work of a pharmacy in the conditions of martial law’.

This seminar was the third in a series of educational seminars organized by the staff of our University with the active participation and support of the Practice, Employment and Career Development Department.

The seminar was attended by pharmaceutical workers, scientific and pedagogical workers of Ukrainian higher education institutions (Ivano-Frankivsk National Medical University, O. O. Bogomolets National Medical University), and students.

The question of organizing the effective work of pharmacies, namely the provision of affordable pharmaceutical care, interested specialists from different regions of the country — the city of Kharkiv and the Kharkiv region, the city of Uman, the Cherkasy region, the city of Kropyvnytskyi, the city of Ivano-Frankivsk and the city of Ivano-Frankivsk region, the city of Volochysk Khmelnytskyi region, Truskavets city, Lviv region, Sloviansk city, Donetsk region, Ternivka city, Dnipropetrovsk region, Mykolaiv region, etc. Pharmacists who are temporarily abroad (Germany, Czech Republic) also took part in the seminar.

The head of the Department of Organization and Economics of Pharmacy , prof. Hanna Panfilova and the head of the Department of Social Pharmacy assoc. prof. Alina Volkova launched the event. They emphasized the need to improve the qualifications of pharmaceutical workers under the conditions of changes in the legislative rules and regulation of the work of pharmacies, as well as the formation of a modern social profile of pharmacies.

Professor Hanna Panfilova highlighted the issue of the experience of organizing the provision of pharmaceutical services abroad as a modern direction of pharmacy work.

Associate professor Alina Volkova paid a lot of attention to the consideration of changes in the legislative rules and regulation of pharmacies, namely the dispensing of medicines according to electronic and paper prescriptions, the responsibility of pharmacists, the introduction of new forms of visitor service, the organization of work and safety of pharmacists under martial law, etc.

The video format presented questions from pharmacists related to the organization of pharmacy work at night, assistance to volunteer organizations, prospects for the development of electronic prescribing in Ukraine, introduction of additional pharmaceutical services, etc.

At the end of the seminar assoc. prof. Alina Volkova answered many other questions related to various directions of the organization of the work of pharmacies in the conditions of martial law in Ukraine. The seminar was held in a friendly and warm atmosphere.

All participants of the seminar took an active part in the discussion of various problems of domestic pharmacy, sharing the experience of serving visitors in these difficult times. The experts highly appreciated the level of organization and conduct of the seminar, which is evidenced by the high scores received by the speakers based on the results of processing the feedback questionnaires.
