UDС 616.-006.55:582.998.2 THE EXPERIMENTAL STUDY OF THE ANTI-INFLAMMATORY EFFECT OF THE EXTRACTS FROM BURDOCK ON THE MODEL OF THE ULTRAVIOLET ERYTHEMA IN GUINEA PIGS N.E.Karakovska, K.G.Shchokina, S.M.Drogovoz

It is known that the complexity of the prostate benign hyperplasia etiopathogenesis (PBHE) results in the fact that the efficiency of its therapy is often complicated with the side effects and has a number of contraindications. In connection with this it is very important to search and create the new safe prostate protectors, which are capable to influence at the same time on the different pathogenetic chains of PBHE. One of the sings of the PBHE is the excessive proliferation of the prostate tissues. That is why for the medicines used in the PBHE therapy the presence of the antiproliferative activity is very actual. This work shows the results of the experimental study of the effect of thick extracts from common burdock root and leaves on the course of UV-erythema in guinea pigs. It has been found that by its antiproliferative and antipyretic action the extract from burdock root is considerably superior to the refence medicine prostapol. The advantage of the burdock root extract can be explained by the presence of phytosterol in the structure of the root of this medicinal plant.
