On June 15, 2021, a scientific and educational seminar “Current issues of implementation of medical technology assessment and public procurement in the field of health care” was held

According to the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine of March 3, 2021 №181, the National Academy of Medical Sciences (NAMS) has launched a new mechanism of financial support for tertiary (highly specialized) medical care in eight research institutions. In this connection, the issue of raising awareness among the staff of these institutions of the methodological basis for the assessment of medical technologies and public procurement in the field of health has become urgent.

The National University of Pharmacy, the Ministry of Health of Ukraine together with the National Academy of Medical Sciences held a scientific and educational seminar on ” Current issues of implementation of medical technology assessment and public procurement in the field of health care.” Its purpose is to raise awareness of the medical and pharmaceutical community, in particular, employees of scientific institutions of NAMS, about the state and prospects of implementation of medical technology assessment in Ukraine and the world, as well as the organization and conduct of such assessment to improve quality, efficiency and availability of medical and pharmaceutical assistance.

The National University of Pharmacy was represented by the Department of Organization and Economics of Pharmacy. The participants of the seminar were offered reports of the head of the Department, Honored Worker of Science and Technology of Ukraine, prof. Alla Nemchenko on the topic “Implementation of the system of evaluation of medical technologies in practical medicine and pharmacy. Creating a professional environment “, as well as associate professor of the Department Victoria Nazarkina on” Scientific and applied aspects of the application of medical technology assessment “.

The seminar was held in the format of a video conference.

The event was attended by more than 100 specialists from the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine, 8 state institutions of the Academy, as well as the State Expert Center of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine.

As a result of the discussion, participants concluded that the issue of introducing health technology assessment in the process of reforming the national health sector is highly relevant.
