From March 18 to 28, 2024, NUPh scientists took part in the visiting professor program at the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences

Within the framework of the Cooperation Agreement between the National University of Pharmacy and the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences, scientists of the Pharmaceutical Chemistry Department of the National University of Pharmacy participated in international academic mobility:

  • Professor Viktoriya Georgiants as the winner of the Education Exchange Support Fund competition for famous scientists to give lectures to students of the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences on pharmaceutical chemistry and standardization of medicines in the period from March 18 to 28 (10 lectures in total)
  • Associate Professor Olha Mykhailenko on the ERASMUS+ teaching mobility program in the period from March 18 to 22 (total of 5 lectures)

Prof. Victoriya Georgiants and Assoc.prof. Olha Mykhailenko took part in the educational and scientific process at the departments of pharmaceutical chemistry, analytical chemistry and toxicology, Faculty of Pharmacy of the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences.

In addition to the educational process, scientists of the National University of Pharmacy held a round table with prof. Ramune Morkuniene, dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy of LSMU and prof. Liudas Ivanauskas, Head of the Department of Analytical and Toxicological Chemistry of LSMU. Possible cooperation in the creation of new elective courses and author’s lectures for teaching at both universities, participation in bilateral and international scientific projects, dual supervision of master’s theses and PhD theses were discussed. In particular, a master’s thesis is planned for LSMU student Karolina Kleveckkaitė on the topic “To compare the characteristics of chemical composition of essential oils made from different types of lavender collected in Lithuania, France, Croatia and Ukraine” under the supervision of prof. Liudas Ivanauskas and Assoc. prof. Olha Mykhaylenko. Scientific research was conducted on the basis of the Department of Analytical and Toxicological Chemistry under the guidance of Prof. Liuds Ivanauskas.
