Higher education in Ukraine from Great Britain

At the end of December 2018 employees of the National University of Pharmacy, namely – Associate Professor of the Department of Pharmacognosy, Ph.D.  Kislichenko O.A.  and assistant of the botany department, Ph.D.  Mikhailenko O. O. took part in the discussion of a scientific grant for teaching staff and entrepreneurs «Creative Spark» by the British Council’s. The grant was won and   concluded between three scientific institutions of KhMAPE (Kharkiv, Ukraine), Donetsk National Technical University (Donetsk, Ukraine) and Kingston University (London, UK).

 Team-leader from the Kharkiv side is the doctor of chemistry, professor, head of the department of clinical biochemistry, forensic medical toxicology and pharmacy KhMAPE Zhuravel Iryna Alexandrovna, from the British side – Ivan Zupic (Lecturer in Entrepreneurship, Department of Strategy, Marketing and Innovation, Kingston University  ), Rosa Busquets (Senior Lecturer in Analytical and Forensic Chemistry, Kingston University, Faculty of Science, Engineering and Computing, School of Pharmacy and Chemistry), from the Donetsk side – Doctor of Economics, Professor Shvets Iryna Borysivna (Vice-Rector for International  relations of DonNTU, international department).

The Higher Education Program for Enterprises is a five-year initiative designed to help develop a creative economy and entrepreneurial skills in seven Central Asian countries (Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan), the Southern Caucasus (Azerbaijan, Armenia and Georgia) and Ukraine.

The project involves the following models: on-line English language courses, summer school for raising the knowledge and skills in the field of entrepreneurship, where it will be possible to present their startups, in addition an incubator for business and entrepreneurship training will be created with the provision of online consultation by competent specialists and analytical laboratory.

At the beginning of February, an introductory lecture will be conducted on the basis of KhMAPE for a group of listeners (limited quantity), after which the English language course will start for more than 100 listeners of all ages and specialties.

At present, the group is represented by more than 40 students, graduate students and teachers from Kharkiv National Medical University (HNMU), Kharkiv National University named after V.N.  Karazin (KhNU), National University of Pharmacy (NUPh), National Technical University “Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute” (NTU KhPI) and others.

The course includes 40 classes, including English speakers, with teachers from Kingston University.  Before the beginning of the classes, the level of the listener will be determined, then the training is followed by an individual plan.  Upon completion of the training, each participant of the program will receive a certificate.

The summer school within the framework of the grant is planned to be held in May-June 2019 for 3 days in a cozy and secluded place to allow participants, listeners, entrepreneurs and teachers to sink into the atmosphere of learning and to adequately create and present their scientific and business ideas.
