NUPh scientists were awarded a grant from Global Engagement Funds (GEF)

NIPh scientists as part of a group of researchers from Great Britain, Poland and Ukraine became the winners and received a grant from the Global Engagement Funds (GEF) 2023/24 with the project ‘Nanofibers for Ukraine: Local upskilling, network building, and potentially life-saving medicines’.

The lead applicant for the grant from UCL – Prof. Gareth Williams (Professor of Pharmaceutical Materials Science Pharmaceutics, Faculty of Life Sciences).

The leading global partner from NUPh – Olha Mykhaylenko, associate professor of the Pharmaceutical Chemistry  Department.

The leading global partner from AGH University of Krakow – Prof. Urszula Stachewicz, Professor in Materials Science.
The team of Ukrainian scientists is also represented by Prof. Victoriya Georgiyants and Ph.D. Dmytro Lytkin
Within the framework of the grant, it is planned to conduct research on the creation of a new soluble composition from a combination of sparingly soluble APIs for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

On October 12, the first meeting between representatives of the National University of Pharmacy (Kharkiv, Ukraine), UCL School of Pharmacy (London, United Kingdom) and AGH University of Krakow (Krakow, Poland) was held for discussion of the grant project implementation strategy and research planning.
