7.02.2013 заседание Харьковского отделения Украинской ассоциации преподавателей русского языка и литературы 1To the peculiarities of cross-cultural interaction in teaching process of foreign students devoted her report the vice-rector on educational work, D.Sc. in Philosophy, Head of the NUPh Department of Sociology and Philosophy, Professor Karina Andreevna Ivanova.

– Now at the National University of Pharmacy are trained 1,300 students from CIS countries, Lebanon, Tunisia, Nigeria, Congo, Egypt, Syria, Mali and other countries. Difficult situation existing in many of these countries has led to the formation of a new type of foreign students and a new term – “student-refugee”, – said professor Ivanova. – Unfortunately, the representatives of these countries are not focused on education. Therefore, the cross-cultural interaction in the educational process obtains specific features.

Head of the Department of Humanities, associate professor Nelya Nikolaevna Filyanina told the colleagues from other universities about the structure of the academic discipline “Russian as foreign language” and its specificity of teaching at the NUPh.

– Special attention specialists of the Humanities Department pay at foreign students’ scientific style of speech. Amount of scientific vocabulary is about 70% of the studied material. The number of hours devoted to teaching Russian to foreign students is declining, complicating the learning process for abovementioned categories of students – Nelya Nikolaevna reported.

On the problems of teaching Russian to foreign students reported Head of the Department of Humanities at the NTU “KhPI”, Professor Tatiana Alekseevna Snegurova:

– One of the challenges of the preparatory faculty is the contract form of training, which implies that we have to teach all those who pay, in spite of the extremely low level of basic knowledge of students. But as you know, you can not be taught, you can learn. Quite frankly, I can say that the success of our work belongs only to the selfless dedication of our teachers.

The interest among the NUPh guests was stirred by the report of assistant professor of Humanities Department Elena Aleksandrovna Dolgaya. Talking about the use of multimedia equipment in the “Russian as foreign language” classrooms, Elena Aleksandrovna shared with colleagues her own teaching methods and suggestions on the implementation of IT-technologies in the educational process. Report of assistant professor Dolgaya turned into discussion of well-known and developed by the NUPh specialists teaching techniques.
