There are names in world history that are proudly pronounced, remembered and honored by all humankind. The name of Taras Shevchenko belongs to them.
On March 9, 2014, Ukrainian people and international community celebrated the 200th anniversary of the Great Poet. Lecturers and students of the NUPh College actively participated in the celebrations: a number of events, dedicated to the multi-faceted creative talent of the master, are being conducted from the beginning of March.
One of them took place on March 12: students’ theatre “Burlesque” presented to the audience their reading of “Kobzar” – literary and musical composition “My thoughts, my thoughts …”. The play reflects the main cause of his poetry. This time 18 young actors performed on the stage – creative group of students of all courses. The artistic integrity of the performance was provided by the combination of poetic words and plastic movements of the participants to the tune of the favorite songs on the poems of Taras Shevchenko in classic and modern execution.
But most importantly, as all participants of the students’ theatre know – these are true feelings and emotions expressed in the masterful Shevchenko’s words. Indeed, everyone was able, just like adults, to convey to the audience their feeling and encourage new thinking on the works of the genius.
No wonder that Shevchenko is called a spiritual leader of the nation, Ukrainian prophet. The audience once again was convinced in the undeniable relevance of the lines written over a century ago. And this is another victory in the life of talented creative clubs, albeit very small, but everyone in it is a personality, each made a small step toward to their great achievements and victories.
