Olena KOWALSKA, associated professor of the General Chemistry Department passed an internship at the Center for Biological and Chemical Research of the University of Warsaw, Poland (the international grant ‘Nowe Idee – Ukraine’). From 01.09.2022 to 17.02.2023

The ‘Nowe Idee – Ukraina’ grant was implemented within the framework of the ‘Inicjatywa Doskonalości – Uczelnia Badawcza’ (Excellence Initiative – Research University) with the project ‘Fluoroproteomics: comparative study of fluoride-stabilized drugs’.

During participation in the grant, methods for determining fluorine in analytes of various origins were developed. A method of determining fluorine by the method of atomic adsorption spectrophotometry using the beam detector mode has been developed. A method of obtaining models of biological membranes has been developed. Their authenticity to biological membranes was investigated. A method of determining the permeability of developed biological membranes for Mg2+ and Ca2+ ions has been developed.

The experiments were conducted under the guidance of scientists of the Center for Biological and Chemical Sciences, Laboratory of Analytical Chemistry: Professor, Head of the Center for Biological and Chemical Sciences E. Bulska, Professor M. Mai-Zhuravska, PhD Ya. Krasnytskyi, Candidate of Chemical Sciences Andrii Tupys.

In addition, issues regarding the further expansion of cooperation between universities within the framework of international academic mobility programs for teachers and students were discussed with the head of the international relations department for work with Ukraine S. Dakhno.
