On May 4, 2023, students of the 3rd and 4th year of the educational program Technology of pharmaceuticals visited a pharmaceutical enterprise, which is currently a leader in the pharmaceutical industry of Ukraine, namely JSC Farmak (Kyiv).
The main place of employment for a graduate of this educational program is a pharmaceutical company. Therefore, visiting production sites during training, getting familiar with modern equipment, working in the company’s research laboratory is a significant part of the practical education of the future specialist.
As part of the educational component Pharmaceutical development of medicinal products, the students, together with the head of the Department of Pharmaceutical Technology, prof. Oleksandr S. Kukhtenko, received new knowledge from the head of the Technological Development Department of JSC Farmak, doctor of pharmaceutical sciences, professor Svitlana M. Gureeva. They also got acquainted with the equipment used at all stages of pharmaceutical development.
While visiting the water treatment site, it was pleasant to observe a lively discussion between the head of the site and the students. There were questions about the temperature of the water after the purification process, approaches to supplying water to other production sites, the characteristics of the equipment. The University teachers discussed all this, so the students were able to see it live on the tour together with all these elements of technology and equipment.
The students were pleasantly surprised by examples of the involvement of the company’s personnel in the improvement of the production process, as well as its continuous development. Now they understand that at JSC Farmak the future of the enterprise depends on the development of each of its employees. Moreover, their further possible career in this enterprise will allow them to develop and improve their knowledge in the pharmaceutical industry.
We are very grateful to JSC Farmak for the opportunity to join the leader of the pharmaceutical industry of Ukraine for a few hours, for the new knowledge, wonderful gifts, delicious lunch and unforgettable emotions! We are sure that this will not be our last tour to JSC Farmak!
