The sculptural composition “The Phenomenon of Health Sciences” was opened at the National University of Pharmacy in preparation for the 100th anniversary on the first of September.
Many scientific discoveries, especially in Pharmacy and Medicine, are based on the results of experiments involving laboratory animals. Such help is needed to create effective ways to treat and restore people’s health and quality of life.
Honorary guests were present at the grand opening of the sculptural composition: the author of the sculptural composition People’s Artist of Ukraine Seifaddin Hurbanov, Honorary Consul of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Kharkiv Emin Nadzhafli Ohly, Vice-Rector for Scientific Work of Kharkiv National Medical University Valerii Miasoiedov, Deputy Chief Executive Officer for Metrology of the State Enterprise “Kharkiv Regional Research and Production Center for Standardization, Metrology and Certification” Volodymyr Chepela, Head of the Expert Group for Conformity Assessment of the State Enterprise “Kharkiv Regional Research and Production Center for Standardization, Metrology and Certification” Lesia Zaliska.
The Rector of the National University of Pharmacy Alla Kotvitska greeted the audience, pointing out that this sculptural composition, which symbolizes the gratitude of mankind to all laboratory animals for their contribution to scientific discoveries, was the first one in Ukraine.
“Laboratory animals have been perfect assistants for scientists for many decades. Nowadays, the scientific community is rethinking approaches to research, beginning to apply the latest technologies such as bioengineering, three-dimensional modeling, cell cultures.”
During the event, the Educational and Scientific Training Laboratory of Medical and Biological Research of the National University of Pharmacy received a Certificate of Compliance with the requirements of DSTU ISO 10012:2005, which was presented by representatives of the State Enterprise “Kharkiv Regional Research and Production Center for Standardization, Metrology and Certification.”
The opening of the sculptural composition was attended by the academic community and applicants for higher education of NUPh.

The sculptural composition is made of granite, it is 3.5 meters high, it is mounted on a marble pedestal.
