The pharmacological studies of the prostate-protective action of suppositories based on the raw material for treatment of prostate gland diseases has been carried out. To reproduce prostatitis the model of cryotraumatic damage in the prostate gland has been used. The reference medicine prostaplant forte in the form of capsules has been chosen. The evaluation of pathology development and efficiency of the drugs has been performed by the dynamics of clinical indices of the periferal blood, biochemical indices of the blood serum and prostate homogenate, the functional state of spermatozoa. According to the results of the pharmacological research it has been found that the suppositories with the plant extracts decrease the general inflammatory processes, increase the activity of the antioxidant system and improve the functional state of spermatozoa in rats. The suppositories developed reveal a marked prostate-protective action. The suppositories on the hydrophilic base are inferior to the suppositories on the lipophilic base by some values.
